Presidential Private Sector Roundtable

The Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA) had the privilege of participating in the Presidential Private Sector Roundtable, presided over by His Excellency, President Dr. William Samoei Ruto on 6th August 2025. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry in partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).
The engagement served as a vital platform for open dialogue between the government and private sector leaders, focusing on unlocking opportunities and addressing systemic challenges impacting the trade and logistics ecosystem.
The discussions emphasized the need for:
Streamlined regulatory frameworks to enhance cargo clearance efficiency.
Transparent and predictable tax and tariff policies to improve competitiveness in regional and global markets.
Improved inter-agency coordination and infrastructure investments.
Reinforced public-private consultations to accelerate inclusive economic development.
SCEA applauds the government’s renewed commitment to institutionalizing structured engagement with industry stakeholders and accelerating reforms that foster a conducive business environment. We remain committed to working collaboratively with both public and private actors to ensure Kenya remains a preferred hub for trade and logistics in the region.
