Advocating for efficient and competitive logistics for cargo owners within Eastern Africa.

The Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA), Management led by the CEO, Mr. Agayo Ogambi had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Cameroon Shippers’ Council on a benchmarking visit aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening collaboration on key trade facilitation initiatives.
The Cameroon delegation was led by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Tanu Noelea, accompanied by Mr. George Caeser and Ms. Rose
Discussions centered on effective management and role the Shippers Council in effective representation. The logistical and road infrastructure constraints inhibiting full maximization t of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) logistical and infrastructural challenges.

Further, on AfCFTA, the deliberations focused on the Rules of Origin, the Common Market, tariff harmonization, and the need for enhanced interconnectivity across the continent.
Both Councils acknowledged that limited transport and logistics connectivity continues to impede the efficient movement of goods within Africa.
The Cameroon Shippers’ Council reported that they chose SCEA for this benchmarking visit in recognition of SCEA’s exemplary work and service delivery to the shipping and trade industry.
