Advocating for efficient and competitive logistics for cargo owners within Eastern Africa.

The Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA) successfully held its Annual General Meeting and Members Forum under the theme “16 Years of Advocacy: Shaping the Future of Trade and Logistics in Eastern Africa.”
We were honoured to host the Principal Secretary for Transport, Mohamed Daghar, as our Chief Guest, alongside distinguished industry leaders including Managing Director Kenya ports Authority, Capt. William Ruto, representatives from Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority and National Environment Management Authority.

The forum provided an important platform for dialogue on port capacity, logistics costs, rail efficiency, trade facilitation, regulatory reforms, and the future competitiveness of the Northern Corridor. The PS reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to improving transport infrastructure, enhancing rail services, reducing logistics costs, and strengthening public-private sector collaboration. Capt. Ruto highlighted ongoing investments at the Port of Mombasa aimed at increasing capacity and improving service delivery, while SCEA Chairman John G. Msafari underscored the need for practical solutions to address rising logistics costs, operational bottlenecks, and emerging regulatory challenges facing cargo owners.
We thank all our members, partners, stakeholders, and sponsors for their continued support and commitment to building a more efficient, predictable, and globally competitive trade and logistics ecosystem for Eastern Africa.
