Advocating for efficient and competitive logistics for cargo owners within Eastern Africa.

Today,the Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA) was honoured to host the Chairperson PPP Committee of the Northern Corridor Transport and Transit Coordination Authority (NCTTCA), Mr. Lino Creale, for a high-level country consultation with private sector leaders.
The meeting, guided by the theme “Unlocking Opportunities through Stronger Public–Private Collaboration” created a platform to openly address the pressing challenges facing businesses along the Corridor. These include:
🔹 Policy and regulatory bottlenecks and limited consultation of private sector in decision- making.
🔹 High transport, energy, and logistics costs slowing trade and competitiveness.
🔹 Limited access to finance and investor readiness.
🔹 PPP implementation challenges, including the lack of bankable project
In his remarks, Mr. Creale emphasized that the private sector remains the engine of growth in the region, creating jobs, driving innovation, and shaping trade and investment. He reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to:
✔ Establish structured mechanisms to capture and follow up on private sector concerns.
✔ Advocate for policy reforms and regulatory alignment across member states.
✔ Facilitate stronger dialogue between governments, development partners, and investors.
✔ Build a transparent process to track progress and report back to stakeholders
This engagement marks a big step toward building a more inclusive and prosperous Corridor one that works for businesses, governments, and communities alike.
