Private Sector Membership Organization Meeting

Private sector had their 1st meeting at the SCEA Board Room,,, Meeting hosted by Mr. Agayo Ogambi, SCEA CEO and Mombasa Port and Northern Corridor Charter, in attendance were Mr. Rodger Dainty, Chairman KSAA, Mr. Elijah Mbaru, CEO Designate KSAA, Mr. Wycliffe Wanda and Ms. Pauline Nduku.
Resolved to work closely to address challenges facing the transport and Logistics sector in consultation with Government and government agencies. Among issues discussed were:

Applaud KPA and Shippers for the increase port throughput for the year 2024
Called for improved Port Productivity and Promised to work with KPA, signing of SLA between KSAA and KPA
Recommended use of Lamu as a Transhipment port,
Called for adequate resourcing of Lamu Port and for KPA to provide incentives to lines . Most importantly for KPA to desist from double charging at Mombasa and Lamu Port
To engage KPA MD as soon as possible to agree on short, long term interventions
Constitution and convening of high Level Port Advisory Meeting and which should meet as soon as possible
Meet quarterly – Private secto
