Welcome to the Shippers Council of Eastern Africa!
The Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA) is a Private Sector membership based organization representing the interests of importers, exporters, and other stakeholders in the logistics and shipping industries across Eastern Africa.
Established in 2006, SCEA’s mandate is to advocate for policies that enhance trade facilitation, with a view to reducing the unnecessary trade logistics costs, as well as improving supply chain efficiency in the region. We play a key role in addressing logistical bottlenecks, promoting infrastructure development, and fostering regional integration. Our other activities – include capacity building through training and sharing of knowledge and facilitating networking among industry stakeholders. Our membership is drawn from various stakeholders including manufacturers, importers, exporters, logistics service providers, trade facilitation agencies, financial institutions, and consulting firms.
Our goal is to advocate for regulatory and policy changes that transform Eastern Africa into a region with high logistics efficiency and competitive service pricing.
