Advocating for efficient and competitive logistics for cargo owners within Eastern Africa.
Today, our CEO, Mr. Agayo Ogambi, along with our esteemed members, attended a workshop organized by the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA). The workshop focused on sensitizing stakeholders about the KPA Strategic Plan 2023/2024–2027/2028 and the Customer Satisfaction Survey 2023.
In his remarks, Mr. Ogambi expressed his appreciation for KPA’s commitment to engaging stakeholders through regular biweekly meetings in both Mombasa and Nairobi.
He raised concerns over the substantial storage charges paid to KPA, amounting to over KSh 5 billion, and urged KPA to review its waiver policy. He also emphasized the need to improve the reliability of railage services and introduce direct incentives for cargo owners using the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi (ICDN).
Furthermore, Mr. Ogambi called for the revival of the East Africa Maritime Awards to recognize and celebrate exceptional performance within the maritime industry.
